| Breast Lift A breast lift is commonly called a mastopexy. This operation is designed to give breasts a more youthful appearance. Patients who are unhappy with the saggy or droopy appearance of their breasts are good candidates for a breast lift. Weight loss, pregnancy and breast feeding contribute to the changes in the appearance of the breasts. There are many variations in the design of the incisions for breast lift. The size and shape of your breasts, size of your areolas and the extent of sagging are factors that will help Dr. Larson determine the best technique for you.
Types of breast lifts 1)full scar mastopexy lifts and tightens the breasts and raises the nipples to the proper position. The surgical scars are located around the nipple areola, down the middle of the breast and underneath the breast.

2) cresent mastopexy addresses nipple position only. This procedure raises the nipple 1 -2 inches. The surgical scars are located around the top portion of the areola. The horizontal scar beneath the breast and the verticle scar down the middle of the breast are not necessary with this procedure. A cresent mastopexy in conjunction with a breast augmentation raises the nipple position and provides for a firmer, fuller, more youthful appearing breast. 3) Donut mastopexy raises the nipple position and removes mild to moderately loose skin. The scars are located in a full circle around the areola. The horizontal scar beneath the breast and the verticle scar down the middle of the breast are not necessary with this procedure. This procedure can also be performed in conjunction with a breast augmentation. 4) Short scar mastopexy raises the nipple position and removes moderately loose skin. The scars are similar to a full scar mastopexy except the horizonal scar beneath the breast in not used. |
